One-hour strike observed against power hike in J

Srinagar, Jun 14 (UNI) The entire industrial community in Jammu and Kashmir today observed a one-hour shutdown during the day in protest against the power hike announced by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) recently.

The one-hour strike from 1100 hrs was called jointly by the Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK), the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), the Federation of Industries Jammu (FIJ) and the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

The business bodies have termed the decision as ''arbitrary, unreasonable and anti-industry''.

They said the industrial community has taken strong exception to the power hike and demanded immediate revocation of the order.

The agitated business community also held peaceful protests against the impugned decision across the state.
