Noted Ladakhi historian passes away in Kargil
Kargil, Jun 14 (UNI) Noted Ladakhi historian and writer Kachoo Sikandar Khan died here today after prolonged illness.
He was 91.
Khan, a former assistant commissioner, had written several books on various aspects of Ladakh. 'Qadeem Ladakh, Ufkar Parashan and Ladakh in the Mirror of Folk Love' were some of the famous books written by him.
One of Khan's children is Kachoo Isfandyar Khan, a senior state government officer at present posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
The Kargil district administration has announced that all government offices and private institutions would remain close tomorrow as a mark of respect to Khan.
