NBW against Ajit Singh

Hardwar, June 14 (UNI) A local court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for repeated Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Chaudhary Ajit Singh for failing to comply with summons to appear before it.

The court of the special judicial magistrate Hardwar, K S Shukla issued the warrant against the RLD MP yesterday afternoon.

A local advocate and Samajwadi party activist, Arun Bhadoria had filed a petition on December 2, 2006 against Chaudhary Ajit Singh and the editor of a local daily news paper which had published on November 26, 2006, a statement of Mr Singh in which he allegedly called the Samajwadi Party ''a party of goondas, mafia and anti-social elements''.

Since he failed to comply with repeated summons, the court issued a NBW against him and directed Delhi police commissioner to arrest him and produce before the court on July 10, 2007.
