Murder accused shot at in court

Sikar, June 14 (UNI) A masked youth today shot at a murder accused, who was being taken for a court appearance in Sikar today. Later, the assailant managed to flee.

According to police and eyewtinesses, accused Mukesh Sonthalia was being taken to Chief Judicial Magistrate court around 1130 hrs when a masked, unidentified youth shot at him at the court gallery.

Mukesh, however, was not hurt as the shot just scraped past his ears. The youth then fled on a motorcycle with another accomplice.

Police have sealed the entry and exit points of Sikar and are trying to apprehend the culprit.

Mukesh is invovled in the murder of Gopal Phogawat, who was the district president of Akhil Bharatiya Jat Mahasabha.

Mukesh was supposed to be produced in the court today in a case related to drugs.
