Municipality employees continue stir to press demands

Puducherry, June 14 (UNI) The Federation of Municipality and Commune Panchayat employees associations continued their agitation today, demanding that they be converted as government employees, granting of promotion and removal of pay anomalies.

As many as 224 employees, including eight women, who were arrested when they attempted to picket the Chief Secretariat yesterday, and taken to a marriage hall refused to go out even after they were released.

The employees, who were continuing their stir inside the marriage hall said they would move out of the premises only after the government concede their demands.
