Monsoon advances further

Hyderabad, Jun 14 (UNI) The Southwest monsoon further advanced and covered some more parts of Telangana and remaining parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, conditions were favourable for further advancing of southwest monsoon over the state.

Numerical Weather Prediction Models suggests increase of ongoing rainfall activity along East India during the next two to three days.

Adilabad, Chinnoor and Kadiri recorded a five cm rainfall each, followed (in cms) by Kamalapuram (4), Lakkireddipalli, Owk, Parvathipuram (3 cms each), Ramagundam, Jammalamadugu, Luxettipet, Mancherial Salur, Tadipatri (2 cm each) and Kurnool, Vijayawada Airport and Visakhapatnam Airport (one cm each).

Light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers were likely at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema in the next 48 hours.

Rain or thundershowers were likely in some parts of the state capital.
