Dehradun, June 14 (UNI) Family members of an Indian sailor, who went missing along with other three Indians, three Pakistanis, two Sudanese and one Iraqi since June 6 in a cyclone that devastated Oman, want assistance from Uttarakhand government to get information about their kin.

Bhagwan Dayal Mishra, resident of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand said he would request the state government to intervene and create pressure on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in New Delhi to obtain information about his missing son Vijay Shankar Mishra.

Mr Mishra, in a telephonic conversation, said ''My approach to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in New Delhi, the Indian Embassy in Dubai and Majid Abdulla Shipping Company (Dubai), where his son was employed, yeilded no results except the assurance that they were doing their best.'' He alleged that neither the Company nor Indian Embassy in Dubai was bothered to keep the family informed about the developments.

''The incident took place in June 6 and the family came to know about it on June 9, that too through their friends,'' said one of Vijay's cousins.

The other missing Indian sailors include Sunil Singh (Nashik), Bhusan Raj (Indore) and Jeevan Gupta (MP).
