IRCON Manager arrested while taking bribe
Jammu, June 14 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested IRCON's Manager while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a contractor at Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said today.
Manager (Engineering Survey) of IRCON, a Vinod Kumar was caught red-handed by a CBI team while accepting bribe for releasing Rs 1.5 lakh as payment of work done on railway line to contractor Nihal Singh yesterday, sources said.
The IRCON official was arrested in the presence of a Magistrate and independent witnesses, sources said, adding that the bribe amount was recovered from the Manager, who was immediately taken away to Banihal police station for questioning.
A case has been registered against the arrested IRCON official, who was project incharge of the railway line.
