Indian cancels five flight from Chennai

Chennai, June 14 (UNI) National carrier 'Indian' cancelled five flights to various destinations on the International and domestic sector from here before the nationwide strike called by Air Corporation Employees Union (ACEU) was called off today.

The cancelled flights were IC 737 Chennai-Bangkok, IC 521 Chennai-Tiruchirapalli, IC 969 Chennai-Mumbai, IC 945 Chennai-Hyderabad and IC 555 Chennai-Singapore, according to Indian sources.

IC 955 Chennai-Kuala Lumpur, IC 555 Chennai-Singapore, IC 549 Chennai-Port Blair, IC 7587 Chennai-Bangalore, IC 971 Chennai-Mumbai and IC 931 Chennai-Trivandrum were operated by adopting contingency method, the sources said.

Claiming that they did their level best to help the passengers, the sources said as the strike was called off, the situation would improve further by this evening.
