Impersonator held

Sehore, MP, June 14 (UNI) A person, who impersonated as a police officer to extort money from truck and taxi operators, has been arrested, police said today.

Narendra Sharma alias Praveen, dressed in a police uniform and travelling in a jeep, was interrogated by police near Amlah police checkpost on June 12.

Narendra claimed that he was Indore's Hiranagar SHO. However, he later confessed his real identity.

Narendra was arrested and his jeep seized. The jeep had been taken on rent on the pretext of being a SHO.

Narendra had earlier been arrested on the charge of indulging in extortion from police stations in Budhni and adjoining areas while posing as a member of the Human Rights Commission.
