New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) Hilti India, manufacturer and services provider to the construction industry, today said it aims to become a Rs 500 crore company and tripple its workforce by 2011.

''We are working towards making ourself a Rs 500 crore company in the next five years from the current Rs 100 crore,'' said Hilti India President Mani Sehmi on celebrating 10 years of the company's India operations.

Hilti India, a subsidiary of Hilti Corporation, will increase its workforce from the current 300 to 1,000 people by 2011.

The company targets to employ 500 people from the engineering background for direct sales, 100 people for repair and service and the rest for logistics, Mr Sehmi told UNI here.

India has a Rs 1,500 crore market in the segment while the company holds a meagre Rs 100 crore.

''We plan to increase its share in this market by adding more people who would go out on the field and demonstrate our services and products to the customers,'' he said.
