Govt moots joint property registration
Mysore, June 14 (UNI) Karnataka Women and Child Welfare Minister H K Kumarswamy today said a system would be introduced for joint registration of property in couple's name for those opting for government benefits in future.
Addressing newsmen here, he said his ministry would hold discussions with the Revenue Department for joint registration of property, including land site.
It was necessary for the inclusion of woman's name in the registration to help them have hold over the property, he said.
Stating the government had already declared the implementation of reservation of 33 per cent of jobs in all departments for women, he said some of the departments were yet to achieve the targets.
He said the government would open 3,000 more anganawadi centres in the state during this year. He said 50 Stree Shanthi Bhavans would be constructed across the state at a cost of Rs 15 lakh each.
