CPM leaders' hunger strike enter fifth day

Vijayawada, June 14 (UNI) The indefinite hunger strike by the CPI(M) leaders in front of the Sub-Collector's office, demanding house sites for the poor continued for the fifth day today.

As an expression of solidarity to the leaders who are on a fast, CPI(M) activists staged a demonstration in the city.

The leaders would continue with their fast till the government distribute house sites to the poor, CPI(M) State committee member Ch Babu Rao Rao, who is also on fast said.

Party sources said as the health condition of the leaders, who were on hunger strike deteriorated, doctors were attending them at the fasting venue.

Meanwhile, the CPI activists forcibly occupied a land at new Rajarajeswaripeta here today, demading distribution of the land to the poor.
