Congres-NCP adopting double standards on textile mill workers

Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari today alleged that the Congress-NCP government in the state is adopting double standards on the issue of textile mills' workers and giving jobs to their children.

Mr Gadkari pointed out that on one hand the state government has filed an affidavit that it would not be possible to give jobs to the children of textile mills workers in the malls and industries which would come up on the textile mills' land. But on the other hand Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh made an announcement from the dais of Indian National Trade Union congress (INTUC) that jobs would be given to the children of mill workers.

''This is nothing but the double standard policy of the Congress NCP government which have ruined the lives of the mill workers and their families' Mr Gadkari rued and threatened that if the government does not provide for housing and self employment training for mill workers, the BJP would drag them to court.
