CM introduces Kanimozhi to Sonia

Chennai, June 14 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today introduced his poetess daughter Kanimozhi, nominated to the Rajya Sabha to Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

After successfuly finalising the candidature of Mrs Pratibha Patil for the Presidentship, Mr Karunanidhi took his daughter to Ms Gandhi's residence and introduced her.

Ms Kanimozhi, who is taking a plunge into active politics on being nominated by the ruling DMK to the upper house, exchanged pleasantries with Ms Gandhi after presenting her a bouquet, party sources here said.

The DMK leader and Ms Kanimozhi closseted with Ms Gandhi for about 15 minutes, the sources said, adding the Chief Minister is likely to return here tomorrow evening.
