CM assures steps to nab persons behind attacks: BJP

Hyderabad, June 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today assured a BJP delegation that all steps would be taken to nab the people responsible for Kamareddy and Armoor attacks, which occurred following the Mecca Masjid bomb blasts.

The assurance was given to the delegation, led by state party president Bandaru Dattatreya, which met Dr Reddy at his residence here along with the families of victims of Kamareddy and Armoor attacks, a BJP release said.

Dr Reddy also agreed to pay an additional compensation of Rs 50,000 each to the victims of the attack.

The Chief Minister had assured the family of the victim, who died in the Armoor attack, Rs five lakh as solatium and a job to one of the victim's family members after necessary inquiry to prove that the victim died in the communal clashes.

Dr Reddy said action would be taken against the police official responsible for brutally beating one ABVP activist in Kamareddy.

He said an official from outside Nizamabad district would inquire into the lathicharge on ABVP activists.
