Caste-based politics not to affect MP
Jabalpur, Jun 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Power Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya today claimed that caste-politics would not affect the state during the next state assembly elections.
''Development and welfare-oriented works by the Shivraj Singh Chouhan Government has created self-satisfaction among people,'' he said, adding the BJP viewed it as a strong indication for returning to power.
Replying to a question, he admitted that the BSP could affect polls in adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh but votes would be polarised between the Congress and the BJP in most districts.
On the affect of Uma Bharti-led Bharatiya Jan Shakti, he said it had become clear during the recent Lok Sabha and assembly by-elections that the organisation and not a particular leader had its effect in the state.
He said the party doesn't get affected by a leader joining or leaving it.
Mr Vijaywargiya said several reasons were behind the party's loss in the recent Shivpuri by-elections. The party would review these causes.
