Bomb scare turns hoax in Pune

Pune, June 14 (UNI) An anonymous call received by the city police saying a bomb had been planted at the IBM Centre on Shastri Road here this evening, has turned into a hoax after a thorough search.

Acting on the information, the police swung into action and rushed a bomb disposal squad and dog squad to the IBM Centre. But after a thorough search, the police teams found the call a ''hoax'', according to police control room.

Some of the high-ranking police officers also visited the spot, sources said, adding that the phone call thus created a panic in the Centre where most of the IT companies are located.
