After hottest day, it is now hottest night in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 14 (UNI) People in Kashmir felt restlessness during the entire night which was the hottest of the season so far but got some respite from the scorching heat during the day today due to the drop in temperature by almost two degrees.

Weather office here said the maximum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 32.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum stood at 21.2 degrees Celsius, which was the hottest night of the season so far.

The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded the hottest day of the season yesterday at 34.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature stood at 15.8 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office said the day temperature in Jammu further went down by almost four degrees to record at 35.6 degrees Celsius. The minimum also dropped and stood at 23.4 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature in the winter capital of the state had soared to 46.3 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

In Pahalgam, the maximum stood at 28.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 14.9 degrees Celsius.

Weathermen said the famed tourist resort experienced 0.2 mm rainfall in the evening while the clouds engulfed skies in Srinagar and adjoining areas, bringing the much-needed relief to the locals and the tourists as well.
