Agartala, June 14 (UNI) About 80 per cent students have passed Madhyamik Examination in Tripura, which is slightly higher than last year's result.

Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) declared the result today.

The result showed that the performance of the remote schools, mostly located in tribal areas, were better than the previous year.

Talking to media here, TBSE president Prof Subrata Sengupta said 47.37 per cent tribal students cleared the exam this year as opposed to 44.12 per cent last year.

He, however, expressed displeasure over the general performance of the rural schools and said nine top ranks except first position in the examination had been obtained by two elite schools of Agartala, while the first position was grabbed by Anandamarga school in Agartala.

Prof Sengupta stated that the result of the examination was better because of the introduction of CBSE pattern in TBSE.
