UP 'beats the heat' with thunder showers

Lucknow, June 13 (UNI) Pre-monsoon showers today gave the people of Uttar Pradesh the much needed respite from the blistering heat of summers.

According to met office, parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Barabanki and Bahraich, were lashed by heavy rains, causing a dip in temperature.

People enjoyed the first showers, which according to weatherman were pre-monsoon.

Southern and western regions of UP comprising Jhansi and Agra divisions and places in 'Purvanchal' had already experienced sporadic pre-monsoon showers.

The state capital witnessed heavy rain with clouds since morning.

Besides humans, animals welcomed the first rains, who were next to reel under the searing heat.

Children too took a bath in the showers, enjoying the change in weather during summer vacations.
