K'taka: 3 Indian flights cancelled, many delayed

Bangalore, June 13: Three flights have been concelled and several were delayed from Bangalore today following the strike by the ground staff of national carrier Indian.

Utter confusion prevailed at the airport. Official sources said one flight each to New Delhi,Mumbai and Panaji could not operate.

The early morning flight No 804 to Mumbai scheduled to leave at 0605 hrs was clubbed with a later flight which left 50 minutes behind at 1020 hrs.

Confusion prevailed in the Bangalore International Airport as several among the 118 flights operated by Indian were delayed the sources said.

Officials said that the operations were kept going by the Officers, trainees, probationers and 'those who did not take part in the strike'.

"Eight flights operated normal in the morning. There will be marginal delays in the flights during the afternoon and evening.

However, we are doing our best to operate all the flights," a top official said.
