New Delhi, June 13 (UNI) A flash strike by employees of the state-owned air carrier 'Indian' caused a chaos at Delhi airport, delayed flights and threw passengers in a tizzy.

At least seven 'Indian' flights were cancelled and several delayed with air travellers complaining about lack of proper information about the schedule.

Cabin-crew and check-in employees joined the strike called by nearly 13,000 ground staff of the airline last night, demanding promotional parity with their Air India counterparts after the merger.

The status board displayed 'delayed' signs next to all the 'Indian' flights as irate passengers gathered around the airline counters at the domestic terminal of the Indira Gandhi International Airport here.

Ordinary enquiries about flight schedule frequently took the form of arguments, with some passengers vowing not to trust the airline again.

Nearly 250 employees of the airline took out a procession at the airport, chanting slogans against the 'Indian' management while demanding immediate wage arrears and better promotional prospects.
