SC/ST Commission to submit interim report before July 20

Mangalore, Jun 13 (UNI) Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission Chairman Nehru C Olekar today said the commission would submit its interim report to the state government before July 20 on implementation of various schemes.

Addressing the press after chairing a meeting to review the implementation of the various welfare schemes meant for the SC and ST communities here, he said during his visit to various districts, he had come across complaints on non-availability of loans to unemployed youths from these communities.

He said to avoid such problems, the commission in its report would mainly suggest new methods for simplifying the procedure for availing loans by unemployed youth and introduction of card system with information such as details of family, subsidy availed for the purpose with the seal of the concerned official on the card.

Mr Olekar said he also came across several instances where the funds allotted under various schemes had not been fully utilised.
