New Delhi, June 13 (UNI) Mr Talmiz Ahmad, Director General of India Council for World Affairs, has been appointed as Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

Mr Ahmad, who succeeds Mr C M Bhandari, is expected to take up his assignment shortly, the foreign office said today.
