Re-postmortem confirms 'foul play' in BSF constable's death

Kancheepuram, June 13 (UNI) The re-postmortem conducted on the mortal remains of Kuppan, a BSF constable who allegedly died after falling from a moving train, revealed that he died of causes other than injuries sustained in a fall.

According to a press release from Kancheepuram police superintendent office the re-postmortem was conducted at the Chengalpettu Government Hospital here today, following a complaint from his widow who suspected foul play in his death.

The constable's widow, Ms Bhavani said on June 3, Kuppan had contacted and informed her of threat to his life by some officers.

On June 5, she was informed by an unanimous caller of his body being found at Bhopal. The caller said he fell from a moving train.

She suspected it to be a case of kidnap and murder and wanted the post-mortem to be done here to establish the correct cause of her husband's death.

The police then took the body to Chengalpattu Government Hospital.

The repost-mortem report was being sent to the authorities in the BSF head quarters in Bhopal, the release added.
