Printo to open 250 retail outlets

Bangalore, June 13 (UNI) Printo Document Services, an organised retail venture in the Rs 17,000 crore market for print and document services, today announced its retail expansion plans to open 250 retail outlets over next three years covering major cities in a phased manner entailing close to Rs 100 crore in investment.

Printo Chief Executive Officer Manish Sharma told newsmen here that though the market growth was exponential at 80 per cent year on year, there had been no organised attempt to exploit the potential.

With already six shops in the city, the venture would induce a tectonic shift in the hitherto unorganised space, he felt.

Replying to queries, he said Printo was India's first branded retail chain for print and document services which leveraged digital and internet technologies to reduce people dependency in delivering print products of international standards.

Besides regular services, the company had a novel concept wherein customers could pick and choose from its template bank on the internet as well as in store and customise it to their choice - be it marketing brochures, event collaterals, business cards, brochures and posters or invitations.

The company had a proprietary software to manage print operations, he added.

He also announced Mr Naresh Malhotra, Chief Executive Officer of Coffee Day and Mr Raju Venkatraman, President and Chief Operating Officer, ICICI OneSource, had joined the company's board as advisors and investors.
