Loo kills ex-MLA, 9 others in MP district

Tikamgarh, MP, June 13 (UNI) A former BJP MLA was among ten people who died after exposure to loo in this district over the past week.

Ex-legislator Anandilal Khateek (70) died yesterday while being rushed to Chhatarpur from Palera's primary health centre. He represented Khargapur between 1990 and 1993.

Police said that Malikan Bai (65) died here today. Another local fatality was reported, a labourer died at Prithvipur, four women and two men at Tarichand Kala village. Most of the victims were between 65 and 70 years. The mercury touched 46 degrees Celsius over the past week.
