Infosys wins DaimlerChrysler's award

Bangalore, June 13 (UNI) Infosys Technologies Limited today announced that it was named DaimlerChrysler's 'IPS Supplier of the Year 2006' (International Procurement Services) in the category of Information Technology.

Infosys was one of three non-production material/services suppliers from North America that were presented awards for outstanding performance last year, Infosys said in a release here.

The award was presented during a ceremony this spring and marked a high point in the five-year relationship between DaimlerChrysler and Infosys.

Infosys began working closely with DaimlerChrysler in 2002 to implement strategic initiatives to increase efficiencies and optimise business processes company-wide.

Chosen among DaimlerChrysler's thousands of technology and non-technology suppliers, Infosys' Automotive Group took home this award by consistently delivering on the four value drivers by which DaimlerChrysler measured its supply base-- quality, cost, technology and supply, the release added.
