Heavy rain to occur in coastal Karnataka

Pune, June 13 (UNI) Heavy rain are likely to occur at most places in coastal Karnataka and at many places in Gangtic West Bengal, Orissa, Konkan, Goa, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, south Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

They are also likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema, interior Karnataka, at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujrat and Tamil Nadu.

The southwest monsoon has further advanced into some parts of central Arabian sea, some parts of Konkan-Goa, entire Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rayalseema, most parts of Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh, entire southwest and west-central Bay, some parts of northwest bay, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal and some parts of Bihar.

Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon over some parts of Konkan-Goa and some parts of Madhya Maharashtra, some parts of Bihar, some parts of Orissa and Jharkhand during next 2 to 3 days.

The southwest monsoon has been vigorous in Telangana and coastal Karnataka and active in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Kerala.

Heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Orissa, Haryana, northwest Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.

In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir. The temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Jharkhand, east Rajasthan, Gujrat, north Konkan and of Madhya Maharashtra and in remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh. They were above normal in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Marathwada.

The temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Punjab, in remaining parts of Haryana and north Chhattisgarh. They were below normal in Bihar and southwest Rajasthan, while normal over the rest of the regions.

Heavy to very heavy rain had occurred at many places in Gangetic West Bengal. Heavy rain had occured at most places in coastal Karnataka, Kerala and at many places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Telangana and Lakshadweep.

Very light rain had occurred at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Maniur, Mizoram, Tripura, Saurashtra and Kutch.

Rain or thundershowers had occurred at many places in north interior Karnataka, at a few places in Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Rayalseema, south interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Orissa.

They had also occurred at Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Dry weather prevailed at Arunchal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat Region and Marathwada.
