Ground staff strike affects Indian Airlines flights in Goa
Panaji, June 13 (UNI) The Indian Airlines authorities cancelled two inbound flights following a strike by the ground staff at all airports in the country.
Dhabolim airport director Paul Manickam told UNI that another flight to arrive here tomorrow had also been cancelled. The morning flight to Mumbai took off as usual.
The strike, however, did not affect the operations of the private airlines which accommodated the affected passengers of the IA.
All fresh bookings including cargo had been stopped. There was no rush of passengers in the off-season now, he said.
Security had been beefed up at the airport in view of the strike.
The airport had actually been under the operational control of the Indian Navy.
