Chandigarh, Jun 13 (UNI) All industrial units and commercial complexes, having more than 5 KW load, in the area of the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam(DHBVN), will have to switch over to Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFL), instead of old incandescent bulbs.

A spokesman of DHBVN said here today that taking a major step for energy conservation, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has decided to make the use of Compact Florescent Lights (CFL) or the efficient lighting system mandatory for all industrial units and commercial complexes having more than five KW load.

He said that the Nigam has already made compulsory the use of CFLs for the applicants seeking new connections of any category and the state government has already made use of CFLs in government buildings mandatory, DHBVN is probably the first electricity utility in India to make use of CFL mandatory for lighting.
