BSP providing 'shelter' to goons: BJP

Basti, June 13 (UNI) Denouncing the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP today accused the former of providing shelter to history-sheeters.

''BSP had been castigating former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for making UP a rest house of criminals. But now, Ms Mayawati too is following the same path after attaining power,'' BJP legislature party leader Om Prakash Singh told reporters here.

Mr Singh reproached the CM for inducting killer of senior BJP leader Braham Dutt Dwivedi into her party fold.

Vijay Singh, the Samajwadi Party legislator from Farrukhabad who had been convicted in high-profile murder case, has recently joined the Mayawati-led BSP.

''The joining of Vijay Singh is a live example of how keen the BSP chief is in protecting the wanted goons,'' the BJP leader said.
