Britannia selects HP to enable IT transformation
Bangalore, June 13 (UNI) Leading food major Britannia Industries, today entered into partnership with Hewlett-Packard India to span its IT Infrastructure and applications.
Announcing the partnership at a press conference here, Britannia Managing Director Vanita Bali said that " the partnership was aimed to drive business results through IT solutions that are leading-edge and enable to serve customers with excellence." She said that the steady growth in the the industry, the IT infrastructure has to be increasingly responsive to keep pace with the accelerated growth. "To tackle this, HP has proposed on agile and adoptive infrastructure completely custom-built to Britannia's specifications. These applications were drived from HPs knowledge and vast experience in handling large complex environments globally." HP India Managing Director Balu Doraisamy, who was also present, said that the agreement was for a three year term. The focus on process excellence was common to both companies and this makes for great synergy and a mutually rewarding partnership.
Replying to a question, Mr Doraisamy said that under the agreement there was no profit sharing with Britannia it is only a service providing.
To another question, he said that at present there is no necessary for Indian IT companies to go in for outsourcing since there are enough manpower. However, for major and important projects some companies may opt for outsourcing from abroad.
