Branded, high-energy SugarCane drink launched

Bangalore, June 13 (UNI) For the first time in the country, the city- based Cane-o-la Foods Private Limited today launched a branded and hygienic fresh sugarcane juice drink 'Cane-o-la'.

Speaking to newspersons, Company Chairman and Managing Director G Srinivasa Rao said arrangements with selected farmers have been made to raise sugarcane of a recommended variety as suggested by the Coimbatore-based SugarCane Research Institute.

He said the sugar cane supplied to the outlets would be kept in regulated temperature conditions and juice would be supplied to the consumers in a most hygienic form.

The sugarcane extracting machine with 316 One grade acid proof stainless steel was the first of its kind in the country, he said and added that the machine had been imported from the USA and facilitated smooth operations with the production of fresh sugar cane juice in a single pass.

Mr Rao said the introduction of 'Cane-o-la' was a part of the campaign against aerated, chemical-contained multinational drinks, which had no medicinal value or nutrient contents.

He said the company had plans to introduce a totally natural, healthy and hygienic Desi refreshment product by opening sugarcane juice kiosks in prime locations and shopping malls nation-wide.

He said the estimated consumption of sugarcane juice in the city, which was being served in most unhygienic conditions, was about one lakh litres per day and expressed confidence that the attempt to provide natural drinks produced using world class technology in every sip would be welcomed by the quality conscious consumers.
