Athavale for Gavai as President

Mumbai, June 13 (UNI) Republican Party of India (A) president and MP Ramdas Athavale today demanded that senior Republican Party leader and Bihar Governor R S Gavai be considered for the post of President.

Mr Gavai is a very senior leader and has very good relations with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Mr Athavale said in a press release.

Mr Athavale said he will call upon Mrs Gandhi and request her to consider Mr Gavai's name for the President's post.
