Areva receives transformer orders from Madhya Pradesh

Bangalore, Jun 13 (UNI) The Transformer and Distribution division of power major Areva has bagged a Rs 115 crore order from the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company under an Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded project.

In a press release here, the company said the order was the largest it had received. It included 22 auto transformers of various capacities and four winding transformers to be delivered and erected by February 2009.

To be deployed in various grid substations throughout Madhya Pradesh, these transformers would be used to set up new substations and strengthen the existing ones.

The product delivery was expected to commence from mid March, 2008 and completion by in February 2009.

The Products vertical of AREVA T&D India contributes substantially to its total Indian business. It has a broad range of offerings in both the High Voltage (HV) and the Medium Voltage (MV) segment.

The company's over 50 years of operating experience in India was complimented with its strong order bookings and new business ventures across its Products, Systems, Automation and Service verticals in the power transmission and distribution arena.
