3 flights cancelled, several delayed in B'lore

Bangalore, June 13: Air passengers were caught unawares as three flights from here were cancelled and several delayed following the strike by ground staff of national carrier Indian today.

Official sources said one flight each to New Delhi, Mumbai and Panaji could not operate due to the strike.

Several among the 118 flights operated by Indian were delayed, the sources said.

Officials said the operations were kept going by the officers, trainees, probationers and 'those who did not take part in the strike'.

''Eight flights operated normal in the morning. There will be marginal delays in the flights during afternoon and evening.

However, we are doing our best to operate all the flights,'' a top official said.
