Sun continues to sizzle in Rajasthan

Jaipur, June 12 (UNI) The scorching sun in June has so far claimed 33 lives in Rajasthan and is showing no signs of relenting, with heat wave continuing unabated for the past four days.

Churu recorded the highest in the state today 45.1 degree Celsius. Ganganagar, which has been the hottest in the past four days, however, recorded a fall and stood at 44.1 degree.

The weather office said most places in the state will continue to wilt under the searing sun except dust-storms predicted in some parts.

At least 14 people have died of sunstroke in Alwar distict, two in Bharatpur and Jaipur districts in the past 24 hours, taking the total heat toll to 33 in the state.

The intense heat, scorching sun continue to make people stay indoors in the state capital, which recorded 43 degree today.

Ajmer was hot at 41.3, Kota 42.8, Dabok 39.2, BArmer 40, Jaisalmer 39.4, Jodhpur 40.2 and Bikaner 41.1 degree Celsius.
