Spain to explore setting up ventures in Haryana

Chandigarh, Jun 12 (UNI) Spain will explore possibilities for setting up ventures in Haryana which is looking forward to collaboration with Spanish companies in the areas of Information Technology and Pharmaceuticals among others.

Mr D Jose Gracia-Morales, leader of a 19-member Spanish business delegation to India, said Haryana was one of the most important state of India and Spain would explore possibilities for setting up ventures in the state. Mr Gracias Morales is the Director of the Council for Foreign Promotion.

HSIIDC Managing Director Rajiv Arora said Haryana would be looking forward to collaboration with Spanish companies in the areas of Information Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Environment Technologies.

The state would also like to collaborate with Spain in Advanced and cutting edge technologies such as Biotech, Nano-tech, New materials, alternative energy sources and other knowledge driven sectors, food processing, agricultural retaining and exports and higher learning.

Haryana Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Industries) P K Chaudhry said in view of the vast progress made by Haryana which had crossed the growth rate of 10.5 per cen, the state today provides tremendous opportunities for the multinationals to set up their ventures.

The growth rate of manufacturing sector in the state had already touched 15 per cent, he added.

The members of the Spanish delegation are associated with Confederacion Espanola De Organizaciones Empresariales (CEOE) in Spain which is similar to Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in India.

The Members represent various companies and financial institutions of Spain. The delegation's visit is reciprocal to the visit of Haryana delegation led by the Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to Madrid, Spain during October last.
