AP: Several trains on SCR route cancelled
Vijayawada, June 12: The Vijayawada division of the South Central Railway (SCR) today cancelled some express and passenger trains following the derailment of Howrah-bound Gurudev Express from Nagercoil near Duvvada railway station.
Senior Divisional Operations Manager (SDOM) B S Christopher told UNI that Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada Ratnachal Express, Visakhapatnam-Tenali-Visakhapatnam Janmabhoomi Express, Visakhapatnam-Guntur-Visakhapatnam Simhadri Express Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam passenger, Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam passenger and Kakinada-Visakhapatnam passenger were cancelled today.
Some of the express trains which left Vijayawada last night were running behind schedule.
Train services on the Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam route were being run only on single line as the parallel line was badly damaged following the derailment. The second line would be restored by tonight, he informed.
The Chennai-Howrah Coromandel Express, which was detained at Anakapalli following the incident left for Howrah.
