Rs 1,000 cr for SC, ST development
Machilipatnam, June 12 (UNI) The National Scheduled Caste Financial Development Corpaoration under the control of Government of India has sanctioned Rs 1,000 crore for the development of SCs and STs in the country, according to its Director V Elisha at Nuzvid in Krishna district last night.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the amount was sanctioned on the basis of SCs and STs population in the country. Out of which Rs 311 crore was allotted to Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.
Under this programme, government had sanctioned lands to the poor, financial suppport for commercial crops and horticulture to them.
The SCs and STs in Andhra Pradesh could utilise the schemes to improve their livelihood, he added.
