Rs 10 lakh looted from BOI

Basirhat, June 12 (UNI) Miscreants looted nearly Rs 10 lakh from Bank of India's Tantra Market branch at Basirhat in North 24-Parganas district this afternoon.

According to eyewitnesses, about nine miscreants arrived on three motorbikes at the bank with five going inside while the others held the gate at gun point.

They fled taking a booty of about Rs 9.72 lakh from bank's coffer, police later said.

Though few customers were present the during the dacoity at lunch hour, the criminals were hardly faced any resistance.

Police launched an investigation and detained some bank employees for interrogation.
