Power situation satisfactory, Peak load 3913 MW

New Delhi, Jun 12 (UNI) With the heat wave sweeping through Delhi over the last week abating today, there was a slight improvement in power situation in Delhi today with the peak load of 3913 MW being met comfortably by the distcoms.

Two MW load shedding was carried out by BRPL due to overloading of 20 MVA Transformer at Okhla Ph. II. However, there was no tripping on account of under frequency, a Delhi Transco spokesperson said.

The power situation in the coming days too is likely to remain satisfactory with the Damodar Valley corporation (DVC) agreeing to supply 50 MW Power on 'Round the Clock' basis from tomorrow, the spokesperson said.

With the advancement of Monsoon in the Western Region, frequency is likely to remain stable in the Grid comprising of Eastern, Western, Northern and Northern Eastern Regions.

Rotational Load shedding may become necessary to maintain the Grid discipline in the event of frequency dropping below permissible limits.
