Police officer suspended

Kozhikode, June 12 (UNI) A Kerala police officer has been suspended from service for his alleged failure to provide adequate security cover to Education Minister M A Baby at a function here, Inspector General of Police (North) M N Krishnamurthy said today.

Kasaba Police Circle Inspector Assainar would be placed under suspension till the departmental inquiry against him was over, he said.

The inquiry was ordered following a complaint by the Minister that the police had failed to prevent activists of the Students Islamic Organisation from disrupting the function attended by him in the city on June four.
