Naidu lambasts CM's statement

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, June 12 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu today criticised the purported statement of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy that the private sector Brahmani Steel Plant would produce more steel than the public sector Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP).

Addressing a public meeting after unveiling the statue of Manthena Suraparaju, a village elder, at Eduru village, Mr Naidu said Dr Reddy's statement virtually amounted to insulting the VSP which project the people of Andhra Pradesh secured after many agitations.

The chief minister was focusing on a private factory ignoring the fact VSP was a public sector unit.

He clarified his party was not against the establishment of factories but only corruption.
