Modern equipment for Ayodhya-Gyanwapi security in 3 months
Varanasi, June 12 (UNI) Old and faulty security equipment at the highly sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya and Kashi Viswhwanath-Gyanwapi complex in Varanasi will be replaced with modern gadgets in three months time.
''Majority of equipment installed in the security at the two complexes are old and faulty. They will be replaced with modern equipment in three months, out of the Rs 13.5 crore allocated for the purpose by the centre,'' Uttar Pradesh Additional Director General (Security) Hoshiyar Singh told newspersons here today.
Mr Singh was in the city to chair the quarterly meeting of Standing Committee on Gyanwapi-Kashi Vishwanath Security.
About other critical issues of Gyanwapi-Kashi Vishwanath security including acquisition of seven buildings, demolition of dilapidated buildings and allotment of land for CRPF barrack, Mr Singh said resolution of such issues were time consuming due to complicated administrative procedure.
The meeting was attended among others by Inspector Generals of CRPF, PAC and Deputy Director of IB, besides IG (Varanasi Zone) Kashmir Singh, DIG (Varanasi Range) D C Vashisth, Divisional Commissioner Nitin Ramesh Gokarna, District Magistrate Beena Kumari Meena and Senior Police Superintendent S B Shirodkar.
Earlier, the ADG also visited Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanwapi complex housing the Kashi Vishwanath temple and Gyanwapi mosque to monitor the three-tier security arrangements.
