Major fire breaks out in Sintex factory

Ahmedabad, June 12: A major fire broke out in the backyard of Sintex Industries plant at Kalol, in which fibre meter boxes were gutted, here last night.

However, there was no loss of life.

At around 2245 hrs last night, the Gandhinagar fire brigade received an emergency call and 5 fire tenders here immediately dispatched. The firemen succeeded in dousing the blaze today at 1100 hrs, said fire brigade sources.

''Since all these meter boxes were wrapped in thermocol and kept out in the open the fire soon became an inferno due to the heavy wind,'' sources added.
