Loo sweeps across MP; death toll 15

Bhopal, June 12 (UNI) Life was thrown off gear today as loo sweep-acriss parts of Gwalior-Chambal region even as Madhya Pradesh's weather toll mounted to 15.

Datia district headquarters sizzled at 47 degrees Celsius, the state's hottest. However, it was a notch lower than yesterday. The number of patients with heat-related ailments was increasing at hospitals.

A Regional Meteorological Centre source predicted isolated rain or thundershowers in Jabalpur division due to upper air cyclonic circulation in Jharkhand and surrounding areas.

The district-wise toll was Shivpuri eight, Morena, Sheopur three each and Bhind one.

The Shivpuri district administration directed health officials to take steps to protect people against inclement weather. Fodder and water are to be arranged for animals.
