Jt venture in finishing school for engineering students

Kolkata, Jun 12(UNI) US-based Jaintec, an engineering services company and Intelsys Technologies have entered into join venture agreement with Descon Limited to start finishing school for engineering students.

Three companies--Jaintec, Descon Ltd have 40 per cent stake each in the joint venture while Intelsys Technologies has 20 per cent equity.

Talking to mediapersons here today, Jaintec CEO Ashish Kumar said, ''We aim to start 20 centres in the next three years. We want to introduce this course on CAD/CAM/CAE various engineering colleges.

''In Bengal, we are talking to West Bengal University for Technology(WBUT) to start this course in various private engineering colleges,'' Mr Kumar said.

Through this joint venture, around Rs 20 crore would be invested in the next three years. Around one crore would be invested in each centre.

A recent NASSCOM study revealed that only a fourth of the four lakh engineering students graduating every year are employable. ''We want to use this opportunity and we will train the engineering graduates in the finishing school,'' he added.
